Worship with Us in Jacksonville!

Worship at Riverside Church at Park and King is rooted in the historic Christian tradition while remaining open, thoughtful, and deeply engaged with the world around us. Each Sunday we gather as a community to pray, sing, listen to Scripture, and reflect together on what it means to follow Jesus in our time and place.

Our services blend ancient rhythms with contemporary voices. You’ll hear Scripture read, prayers offered for our city and world, and music that ranges from traditional hymns to modern expressions of faith. Some weeks the sanctuary is filled with the sound of a classic hymn; other weeks you might hear a new song or a fresh arrangement that invites the congregation to sing in a new way. At the center of it all is congregational participation—worship is something we do together.

Preaching at Riverside is thoughtful, honest, and connected to real life. Our sermons engage Scripture with curiosity and care, exploring how ancient texts speak to modern questions about faith, justice, community, and hope. We believe that faithful interpretation requires both intellectual depth and spiritual humility, and our preaching invites people to think deeply while remaining grounded in the love of God.

We also believe worship should connect our spiritual lives with the needs of our neighbors. Each week we pray not only for ourselves but for our city, our nation, and the world. Riverside’s life of worship is closely tied to our commitment to justice, compassion, and the common good.

One of the most important things to know about worship at Riverside is that everyone is welcome. You don’t need to believe everything we believe or have your faith all figured out. Some people come with deep roots in church; others are exploring faith for the first time or returning after time away. Wherever you are on your journey, you are invited to participate fully in the life of this community.

When we gather in the sanctuary, we come not as spectators but as a people seeking God together—bringing our questions, our gratitude, our grief, and our hope. We believe that when we gather in this way, God meets us here and sends us back into the world renewed for the work of love.
